Pitkin, Eagle, and Gunnison County voters passed a similar measure to create a Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program here. This voluntary, opt‐in Local Improvement District would enable eligible property owners to apply for financing through the County to fund their energy upgrades, the costs of which would then be repaid via special assessment on their property tax bill.

350.org is an international coalition of climate activists led by Bill McKibben. In October 2009, over 5,000 communities organized demonstrations for International Climate Action Day, including Aspen and Carbondale. This October, on 10/10/10, 350 is again orchestrating a coordinated global effort, this time in the form of work parties to install solar systems, gardens, pike paths, and more in communities around the world.
