Residential Cash Incentives

What do Paul Anderson, Elizabeth Boyles, and Joani Matranga have in common?

They all save energy...

Matt Deam and Doug Graybeal both got money back from CORE just for buying energy-saving products!

...And CORE's numerous incentive programs help.  With rebates for efficient refrigerators, dishwashers, clothes washers, programmable thermostats and solar systems, who wouldn't want to save energy and money!  See the cash incentives below and our What you can Do page for details.

Click on the links below to find out how you can save money or even earn money by installing a solar energy system or energy efficient appliances in your home.

Solar Power Pioneer Program
Residents of the Roaring Fork Valley are eligible for CORE's solar incentives.
Purchase a solar hot water system and get a Cash Rebate or Zero Percent Financing.

PV Rebate Form

Solar Hot Water Rebate Form

Residents of the Roaring Fork Valley are eligible for CORE's solar incentives.  Installing a solar hot water system will save approximately $250 per year on your utility bill.  Through CORE rebates you can save up to $2,000 on your solar hot water system.  Additionally, it will help eliminate carbon dioxide, the chief culprit in global warming, from our atmosphere.

Purchase a solar photovoltaic system, tie it to the grid and earn $2.00 per watt up to $6,000 (for a 3 kW PV system). Or finance that PV system with a Zero-Interest Loan. (Please note that the rebate may not be combined with the zero interest loan.)

If you purchase your electricity from Holy Cross see their web site for their rebates on energy efficient appliances and grid-tied PV systems. With Ammendment 37 all electric companies in Colorado will have to rebate their customers for the installation of PV or any other renewable energy source that is web tied.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, adding a solar hot water or PV system to your home is like planting one-half acre of trees!  A PV system will save you $250 per year, and keep 3,000 to 8,000 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere each year.

In a typical boiler heating system, the water is set at 180-200°F to balance the heat loss        on the coldest winter day. It takes a lot of energy to maintain that temperature, and for most of the year is not necessary to meet your heating needs. An outdoor reset varies the temperature in your radiant heat system in response to the outdoor temperature.  This way, the water is an appropriate temperature based on the weather, which saves energy and provides year-round comfort.

Below are some manufacturers who have outdoor reset options:

TEKMAR, Johnson Controls, Viessmann, Qest, Honeywell, Buderus, Radtech

ClothesWashing Machines:
See special requirements below. Not all Energy Star rated washers comply. Check the website below before you buy.
$150 rebate

Purchase a washer model from Tier 2 or 3 from the "CEE Residential High-Efficiency Clothes Washer Initiative Qualifying Product List" which can be found on     the web at: www.CEE1.org under washers or can be faxed or sent to you. CEE Tier 1 DOES NOT APPLY.

        Benefits:

  • Saves Energy
  • Uses Less Water
  • Saves on Drying Time and Costs
  • Reduces Waste Water, Better for Septic Systems
  • Reduces Utility Bills
  • Better for the Environment

Using an energy efficient washer will save water and energy, typically 25-40 % less water and 50- 65% less energy. How much money you save depends primarily whether you heat your wash water with electricity or natural gas, how many loads/week you wash and which model you choose. A family of four, washing on the average 8 loads per week, will save approximately $40-50 annually if using electricity for hot water. This household will also save water, typically 6000-8000 gallons of water a year. Since the clothes come out of the washer with less moisture, clothes need less energy to dry and take less drying time. Take advantage of the free energy of Colorado sunshine to dry clothes at no cost. If you would like to check the water, energy and money savings for your washer model, go to the web site: www.energystar.gov/products and click on washers. This site has lots of information on qualifying products and purchasing tips.
