CORE provides presentations, training workshops and conferences addressing key issues of energy efficiency, renewable energy and green building. Most recently CORE is inviting you to attend a conference that we are co-sponsoring. The conference is on Peak Oil and it will be held on November 10 & 11, 2005 (Peak Oil Conference Invitation). Many experts feel that the rate of the world's oil production (extraction) is peaking. With soaring demand from China & India the surplus that existed previously has diminished. Our economy virtually floats on a sea of oil so this is matter of great importance. This may be the most important conference that you attend for some time to come.
This is a high-level conference which will be held in Denver, Colorado. The two-day forum is also sponsored by the City and County of Denver and ASPO-USA. Keynote speakers include Matt Simmons, author of Twilight in the Desert, a study of Saudi Arabia's petroleum resources, and Congressman Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD.) who has given Special Order Speeches on the floor of the U.S. House on the subject of peak oil. Other speakers will include Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper; The Honorable Tim Wirth, President of the UN Foundation; Michael Ashar, Suncor-USA; Peter Dea, Western Gas Resources; Jeremy Gilbert, Chief Petroleum Engineer (ret.) with British Petroleum; oil industry analyst Henry Groppe; Chris Skrebowski, editor of Petroleum Review, and Tom Petrie of Petrie/Parkman.
