City of Aspen Recognized by the EPA

The EPA recognized Aspen this week in a national outreach campaign for the work CORE and the City of Aspen are doing with Building IQ, a program to benchmark large buildings in Aspen. Benchmarking means we are capturing critical data on how much energy and water resources these buildings are using in daily operations so that we can work together with the building owners and managers and the City of Aspen to reduce use and emit less carbon moving forward. In fact, the City of Aspen’s goal is to reduce emissions by 100% by 2050. We have to know where we are in order to know where we are going. And we are going toward Net Zero and a massive reduction in carbon in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley. It’s an honor to be recognized at the federal level for the work we are doing at CORE.
