This November: Gratitude, Giving & Shared Impact

As we head into the final weeks of 2025, I want to express my appreciation for everyone who is part of the CORE community. Whether you partner with us, participate in programs, follow our work, or donate to our cause, you contribute to the momentum that makes our mission possible.

This month we are highlighting stories of progress, community innovation, and opportunities to get involved. Your engagement strengthens local climate solutions, and I hope you feel proud of what we are accomplishing together.

With Gratitude,

Partner Spotlight: Aspen Building IQ

CORE partners with the City of Aspen to track emissions from existing buildings through the Building IQ Program. With over 97% of covered buildings participating, which is one of Colorado's highest compliance rates, we are making measurable progress. CORE has invested over $400,000 in grant funding for 15 building retrofit projects. The 2025 Community Benchmarking Report features success stories, detailed benchmarking data, and expert recommendations to help building owners reduce emissions and improve efficiency.

Energy Rebates: Stack Your Savings

Exciting news for homeowners and renters! Colorado’s new Home Energy Rebate Program is expected to offer up to $14,000 in income-based rebates for heat pumps, electric stoves, efficiency upgrades, and more. These rebates are designed to be applied directly through registered contractors as a reduction in installation costs. Additional details will be shared as more information becomes available, including how these rebates may eventually complement CORE’s own rebate offerings.

Meet Our Team: Sadie Kenyon-Dean

We are excited to welcome our new Office Manager, Sadie Kenyon-Dean. Originally from Upstate New York, Sadie developed her passion for environmental justice during the “We Are Seneca Lake” campaign, when her community united to oppose the expansion of fracked gas storage. She brings genuine enthusiasm for sustainability, strong organizational skills, and a warm, collaborative spirit to the CORE team.
