September Incentive Update From CORE Programs Director Cedric Gamble
Dear CORE Community,
Thank you for the support and engagement that you all have shown CORE this year. We envision a future where all the homes and buildings in our community are energy- efficient, actively improve the lives of residents, and reduce our impact on the environment. The level of uptake this year with CORE incentives and advising has been a testament to the effectiveness of our programs and the possibility of our vision.
CORE is on track to provide over $2.5M in incentive funding to nearly 300 energy-efficiency and electrification projects across communities in Pitkin, Eagle, and Garfield counties this year. We are thrilled with the success of these projects that make our communities healthier, more resilient, and more sustainable.
This success has exhausted our incentive budget for some programs in 2026. Effective September 30th, 2026:
- CORE residential incentives in Garfield County and unincorporated Eagle County within the Roaring Fork Valley will be paused for the remainder of 2026.
- All CORE commercial incentives in Garfield County will be paused for the remainder of 2026.
- Rebate or pre-approval applications received by September 30th, 2026, from these communities will be considered but are not guaranteed until approved.
- Existing pre-approvals or grants will remain valid until their stated expiration dates.
- Additionally, effective September 30th, 2026, CORE will pause residential rebate pre-approvals across all communities for the remainder of 2026 to more accurately track incentive spending through year-end.
- Projects in the Town of Basalt, regardless of county, and throughout Pitkin County will remain eligible for first-come, first-served rebates, funded by local government partners.
CORE’s funding for many of these programs come from private donations and CORE’s reserves. CORE will continue to fundraise to support this work next year and beyond, and future programming will be informed by this year’s success. If you or your organization have benefited from a CORE program in the past, consider making a donation today to support our continued success and ensure the durability of our incentive programs for the benefit of everyone in our community.

Cedric Gamble
When Temperatures Drop, Hold on to the Heat!
Cold weather is on the way, and a home that loses heat can waste the energy you are already paying for. A home energy assessment is a practical place to start. It can show you where your home is losing heat and point you toward the upgrades that matter most, whether that means sealing drafts, adding insulation, or upgrading an older heating or water-heating system.

Thank You for Supporting The Green Expo
Thank you to everyone who participated in The Green Expo 2026, CORE's Annual Event. During the panel discussion, Jenna Weatherred, VP of Member and Community Relations at Holy Cross Energy, shared a phrase that stayed with us: “moving at the speed of trust.”
It was a thoughtful reminder that meaningful progress is not only about the solutions themselves. It is also about being transparent, listening to the community, and earning confidence along the way.
We are grateful to Jenna and the rest of our panelists for a conversation that made space for both big ideas and the relationships needed to bring them to life.
