Jake Lapp
Program Manager

Jake grew up in a small town in Connecticut, fly fishing for wild brook trout in the streams that ran through town. His longing for bigger mountains and more adventure is what brought him to Colorado for school in 2016. Jake graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a B.A. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and a B.A. in Environmental Science. After graduating, Jake moved to Washington to work at a shellfish hatchery, where he learned sustainable aquaculture practices and the proper management of a resource. Before joining CORE, Jake lived on a sailboat in the Caribbean, where he spearfished, scuba-dived, and learned how to code as a pastime. Now, Jake is working for CORE, where his work is rooted in passion as he continues to fight for conservation and sustainability in the place he calls home. In his free time, Jake enjoys snowboarding, fishing, hunting, camping with his fiancé, and trail running.
