Kimberly Marcum
Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator
Kimberly Marcum leads marketing and community engagement at CORE, where she focuses on turning complex ideas about energy, buildings, and electrification into something people can actually understand—and use. She is especially drawn to work that directly improves people’s day-to-day lives and values being part of work that shows up locally and actually makes a difference.
Her work sits at the intersection of communication, community, and climate, helping residents, businesses, and partners connect with practical tools that reduce energy use and support a healthier Roaring Fork Valley. She is particularly interested in the moment when information turns into action—whether through a conversation, a community event, or a campaign that finally makes something click.
Kimberly’s background is rooted in Colorado’s mountain communities, where she led marketing for destination-based organizations and developed a strong appreciation for the balance between vibrant local economies and responsible stewardship. That perspective traces back to her early work in wildlife education at the Louisville Zoo in Kentucky, where she spent time in the bird blind on the surrounding parkland, helping visitors connect more closely with local wildlife and ecosystems.
Outside of work, Kimberly splits her time between hot springs, hiking, and ongoing home projects that are never quite finished. She reads a mix of history and philosophy, keeps more plants than she probably needs, and shares her home with a small gang of cats.
