Ashley Orgain

Chief Impact Officer, Seventh Generation

As the Chief Impact Officer for Seventh Generation, Ashley serves as a senior leader for the Company’s Mission and environmental and social impacts. Ashley oversees the mission, strategy, execution, and efficacy of all Environmental and Social Impact priorities and teams including, but not limited to, product standards, sustainable sourcing and supply, strategic philanthropy, community investment, business governance and transparency, industry and trade relations, public policy and advocacy. 


Ashley serves on the board of VT Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG) where she was board chair from 2015-2021. In 2010, she became the first President of the Seventh Generation Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to promoting social and environmental progress and has overseen it’s transition so that 100% of Foundation grant are informed by Indigenous and directed to Indigenous communities and movements.


Ashley received her Green MBA in Environmental and Organizational Sustainability from Antioch University New England.  And her B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont.

Chris Miller

Chris Miller is the Senior Vice President of Sustainability at Aspen One, where he leads the company’s efforts to embed sustainability into business strategy and operations—while using Aspen’s voice, influence, and resources to help shape more just and sustainable systems beyond the company.


Prior to joining Aspen One, Chris spent 14 years at Ben & Jerry’s, where he was the Global Social Mission Director and a member of the company’s executive leadership team. He led the integration of Ben & Jerry’s progressive values into day-to-day operations, including sustainability strategy, values-led sourcing and supply chain development, and the company’s unique, award-winning model of corporate activism.


Before Ben & Jerry’s, Chris led sustainability efforts at Seventh Generation, a leader in non-toxic household and personal care products. His earlier work includes directing Greenpeace USA’s national climate campaign in the early 2000s and serving on the staff of Congressman Bernie Sanders.


Chris splits his time between the Roaring Fork Valley and Burlington, Vermont, where he lives with his partner Ashley, her 13-year-old son Walker, and their dog Hewie and cat Boo.

Carleen Pickard

Advocacy & Activism Manager, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics,  North America


Carleen works on social, environmental and animal justice campaigns for Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics. As Advocacy & Activism Manager, she supports campaigns and initiatives on issues important to Lush such as reconciliation with Indigenous People, ending fossil fuel extraction and animal protection. Prior to Lush, she held several positions at the human rights group Global Exchange between 1997-2015, including Executive Director, Associate Director and Mexico Program Director. She was also an organizer and Political Co-Director at the Council of Canadians, Canada’s largest advocacy organization. Carleen holds an MA in Anthropology and Development from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom, where she worked with Zapatista communities in Mexico resisting military occupation.
